The aim of the TIGER project is to provide Styrian companies with access to international knowledge and specialized innovation services. These new impulses are intended to drive the development of products and services in elderly and remote care, which are urgently needed due to the growing shortage of skilled workers. Through targeted innovation services such as the “Living Lab,” where companies can test their products in a realistic environment, and expert assessments to evaluate market opportunities, Styrian SMEs receive valuable support in product development.

The ICS will serve as the lead partner of another EU project called TIGER, which, with a project volume of almost €2.7 million, will intensively explore international solutions for geriatric and remote care until summer 2027. Together with the Geriatric Health Centers (GGZ) of the City of Graz and Human.technology Styria (HTS), valuable expertise from across the Alpine region will be pooled to support Styrian SMEs in the healthcare sector in developing new and innovative products.

A key component of the project is the development of an online platform that promotes exchange between experts, companies, and innovative offerings. This platform is expected to be operational by 2026 and will open up the Alpine region (Austria, Slovenia, Italy, France, and Germany) as an innovation space for the participating companies. SMEs that already have initial solutions in the field of remote care can receive valuable support from the project in developing suitable business models.

Other project partners are:

•Innovation and Business Incubator Nuremberg-Fürth-Erlangen
•OTH – Technical University of Applied Sciences
•Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nice Côte d’Azur
•Association EUROBIOMED
•Upper Adriatic Technology Park
•Ca’ Foscari University of Venice
•Technology Park Ljubljana
•IZRIIS Institute for research, training and consulting in public health & digital health

With the EU project TIGER, the ICS is taking another important step to prepare domestic SMEs for the challenges of the future and to strengthen their competitiveness in the global healthcare market.

The TIGER project is co-financed by the European Union’s Interreg Alpine Space programme.
