On Tuesday, October 1, as part of professional program of the Third Age Festival, we prepared an expert meeting with a discussion:

»SNS24 – Center for eHealth Services in the Public Health of Portugal«

with a guest: dr. Micaelo Seemann Monteiro Ph.D. med. Director of the National Center for Telehealth, SNS24.

We talked about SNS 24 – a telephone and web service of the Portuguese National Health Service. It provides support when people need advice on acute, non-urgent medical conditions. It also offers a set of services that allow you to solve health problems without having to go to a primary care unit or a hospital. SNS 24 offers both clinical and non-clinical services. The services are available 24/7 also in English. WHO and EuroHealthNet also cite the service as an example for raising digital health literacy.

The event is hosted by doc. dr. Dalibor Stanimirović, MD, Director of the Center for Health Research and Development at the National Institute of Public Health and President of SDMI, prof. dr. Ivan Eržen, MD.

With our guests we took a look at the Demonstration Room “Smart Housing” – IRIS, which represents the use of modern technology and technical solutions in an apartment where a disabled or elderly person is staying; and the University Development Lab, hosted by dr. Zlatko Matjačić.
